Official Responses

18 Jul 2011

Churches are active in every kind of community in Scotland, in ways ranging from personal caring and support, to a wide variety of local and national projects. As churches care and listen, they learn. They have a strong record of building on that, through tough thinking and faithful reflection. At times, they have a prophetic word of challenge to bring; at times, they have insights to contribute.

Many churches choose to share their reflections through responding to official consultation processes initiated by the Scottish Parliament, Scottish Government, UK Government and other agencies. Openness and accountability are two of the founding principles of the Scottish Parliament; participation in consultation processes is a significant contribution to public life in Scotland.

The official responses included here have been made by denominations associated with SCPO and have been listed by denomination and within each denomination by date. Whilst this list is extensive, we cannot guarantee it is comprehensive.  Documents will download in PDF format, and will open in a new window.
