MP Accountability Network briefing
Tuesday 22 June, 6pm - 8pm

Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh EH1 2JL

Join our network of churches and groups working to hold our local MPs accountable!

One of the keys to restoring faith in democracy is ensuring that the MPs we elected at the General Election are held to account for what they do on our behalf in Parliament.  Churches can play a key role in this task. Many already organise parliamentary 'hustings' with candidates during the Election campaign:  But holding MPs to account is not something to be done only once every five years!

Democratic accountability will be hugely strengthened if groups across the country are willing to hold our MPs to account on a regular and on-going basis. By working together, we can ensure that issues we care passionately about are firmly the political agenda.

You are invited to attend a briefing session in Edinburgh, to find out more about the Network, and what you can do to build an effective and lasting accountability relationship with your MP.

You are more than welcome to invite other people to come along as well - just let us know how many people you want to bring along! To book your place, send an email to info@church-poverty.org.uk ring Janet Gee on 0161 236 9321, or return the form available to download below to Church Action on Poverty.

(run in conjunction with Church Action on Poverty, the Iona Community, Faith in Community Scotland and the Scottish Churches Parliamentary Office).
